Walkthrough DLC Sam Story for Metro: Exodus
After the launch of the Metro Exodus Sam Story add-on, the game will bring you up to date. You will learn how one of the members of the Order, the same Sam, decided to leave him and go to Vladivostok. The goal of the hero is the American city of San Diego, where his father, it seems, is waiting for him.
When you arrive in Vladivostok, move forward into the building and deal with the opponents. Go up to the second floor, chat with the Captain. Try to follow all his orders to unlock the Cruel Principles achievement.
Further, we go down the tightrope and fight with the bats and a swarm of flying opponents. Pick up supplies in the van, and then move into the building and defeat the enemies inside. When you get on the submarine, chat with Tom and Klim (choose one of the story options). After leaving the cabin, move along the bridge to the room on the left – to the arsenal, where your character will be given a weapon and a device for detecting mines. After picking up the pistol from the table, try to knock out all the targets in the shooting range – then you will be additionally given another clip of incendiary cartridges as a reward.

Pool Metro Exodus Sam Story
When you arrive at the place, go upstairs and deal with the ghouls. Pick up the note from the floor and enter the door to the room with the pool, jump onto the boards, move into the flooded room, and further up the stairs. Pick up improvements for armor and weapons, move further into the room with the ghoul. After killing the enemy, fill up the night vision device, after which you can return to the boat. It is not necessary to kill the ghouls along the way, you can run past.
School Metro Exodus Sam Story
Arriving at the school, go along the corridor and look into all the available rooms. Since there is only one tier available for research, you should pay attention to the piano room. Pick up a melody and a note, and then go back.
Cinema Metro Exodus Sam Story
After entering the building, go to the right side of the central hall. Finding a toilet with a hole in the floor, go down through it and pick up the weapon upgrades. After that, move to the upper floors of the cinema, find a room with a player and video recordings. Place them and scroll on the screen to get the Kinoman achievement.
Do not forget to go into the room, the entrance to which is hidden behind the boards right there. The enemy will be waiting for you in the room, improvements, and melodies on the wall. After that, move to the residential building (there is a marker on the map), go to the flooded basement and climb higher, and further – through the door to the apartment with a balcony. Go to the far balcony, move the closet and go to the next room. Break the cans on the left wall for another upgrade.
Move up until you get to the kitchen, where you will find another note on the windowsill. Then go down the pipe and get ready for a battle with ghouls. Having dealt with them, meet with the Captain, help him with the log, and follow him to the submarine.
Cake Metro Exodus Sam Story
After the sniper attacks you, get out of the submarine and move to the flooded building. After killing a couple of enemies, turn right and go up the stairs. Behind the storms, you will find a ledge with which you can get to the cache with improvements. We return to the building, find a rope ladder in the back room and go up to the second floor.
We move to the building in which the sniper sat down. Try to make noise and look for workarounds until you reach a room with an enemy. You can either kill him or stun him – the choice here will not affect anything in the future. We select the loot and return to the boat. You can walk past it to discover a little more bonuses a little further and then continue with the story quest.
Captain’s Hideout Metro Exodus Sam Story
After arriving in the Captain’s room, sit in a chair and wait for the light to turn off. Help him straighten his knee and share the canned food, after which you can enjoy a long cut-scene.
We select a Molotov cocktail and go down to the workbench. Make about 5 cocktails to charge 5 traps in the building with their help. We go down below, but the first one and move into the room to the right through the hole in the wall. You can get into the room on the left through another broken wall, and then move forward to the room with the piano. As usual, loot the melody, go out into the corridor and load the second trap.
We move down the stairs, in the corridor we put the third trap, after that we make our way through the window into the room with the ghouls. We kill them, break the picture with the cabinet and find a secret passage with modifications and armor. Having picked them up, we return to the corridor and move to the place with the fourth trap. Look into the adjacent room, there are improvements and then go down the stairs. Before leaving the floor, load the last fifth trap and unlock the Trapper achievement.
Scouts Metro Exodus Sam Story
We get out of the building and move into the narrow passage between the buildings. There will be bandits waiting for you, the victory over which will give you some more value. If you don’t want to fight, go around the buildings on the left and go to the boat. We will sail on it to the pier, climb aboard the boat and chat with the discovered man who will tell you his tearful story.
After receiving information from him about the first part of the code from the safe, return to the pier and swim across to the bank on the right. We go to the destroyed building, where the scouts are waiting for you – talk to them, pick up the pouches and move to the workbench (do not forget to pick up the melody next to it). We return to the scouts, go around the building on the right side and see the bridge – move across it to the ruins and get ready for battle.

Having defeated the ghouls, move into the room on the right and crawl under the table to find the secret – improving the night vision device. Return to the reconnaissance post and pay attention to the building on the right – move there by boat. Inside you will meet with bandits, and on the second floor, you can find new improvements.
We return to the scouts, where to the left of the workbench there is a passage with a small bridge. Go to the junkyard, fight the winged bird and dab the corpses nearby (you will find cartridges from them). Having defeated the monster, go forward and turn right until you see the garage. Inside you will find another NPC, who will report the second part of the code, after which you will need to go back and turn to the right again. Move to the car dealership, walk along the corridor to a couple of offices (in one of them you will find a melody on the wall) – in the far one you can find a safe.
You can open it only if you have found both brothers. Inside you will find a note and then return to the relatives who are in the garage on your right.
Bandits Metro Exodus Sam Story
After passing through the minefield, we make our way into the building along the stairs to the second floor. Next to the safe, we find a note, after which we move further along the corridor to the room with a workbench. We take the melody, we go further into the neighboring building until you find yourself in front of the locked door. Use the toggle switches nearby, switching them in the “third-first-second” order, after which you can find an unloading vest in the cache.
Eliminate a couple of guards in front of the building with the boat, go up to the second floor and activate the lever. Go down to the boat, make sure you have enough filters for your gas mask, and can go to the next stage.
We get to the pier inside the building, go ashore and take a note. If you swim further, you will be attacked by Shrimps, so you better go to the end of the location, go up a little and find the valve. After that, interact with the electrical panel on the right (this way you will burn the Shrimp), raise your weapon, and swim further on the boat.
Sailors and Tape Recorder Metro Exodus Sam Story
Before reaching the infirmary, take the boat to the left and move on to the island with dead bodies. After you have searched the corpses, listen to the recording on the tape recorder and go into the interior of the island, having climbed the bridge to the corpse of the first sailor. Continue exploring the location to earn the respect of the Captain.
Go down a little lower, killing the Shrimp, continue moving along the shallows. After you find the second sailor, crawl under the bus and go up to the place where the body of the first mate lies. After listening to the recording, go down the rope, here we have nothing else to do.
Further, move by boat to the edge of the map past the silos. Going to the first-aid post, dealing with a couple of enemies, and going upstairs. You will find a melody next to the guitar, after which we proceed to the next stage.
Fire Department Metro Exodus Sam Story
Go upstairs after getting off the boat, go to the bus, and find a note inside. We return and move towards the kanga, taking the sheet with the melody and the canister, which is necessary for refueling the generator. When the crane starts, go down to the pier and move to the subway. Take a lantern and weapon upgrades in a nearby cache, and then head to the fire station.
Remember that there are guys at all entrances. After making your way inside, go up to the second floor and find protective suits in the back room. We climb the steps higher, in the room we find an improvement for the helmet and a note, after which we get to the roof and roll down the rope.
Fuel Metro Exodus Sam Story
When you find yourself in place, move into the building on the right. After defusing the mines, find a note in the backroom and head towards the marker. Carefully, the winged wingman will attack you again, but now he will attack from the bushes – the dust rising next to the trees will tell you where he is hiding.
After defeating the monster, move forward to the building with a workbench and modifications. When you pick up the loot, go back a little and move towards the marker. Deal with a couple of Shrimp on the spot until you meet the Captain.
Together with him go to the bunker with submarines, in the room interact with the shield. Go to the next room and inside the locker pick up the improvement for the helmet. Deal with spiders using a lighter to scare away other monsters.
After that, move to the place for loading fuel, fighting the electro-spider twice along the way. After the fuel loading procedure is completed, use the elevator to get to the ventilation and wait for the spider to create an electric charge. After waiting for the moment until the propeller stops, make your way between the blades, eliminate the spider and get to the boat, where the Captain is already waiting for you.
Metro Exodus Sam Story Ending
Back on the sub, talk to the Captain. He will give you a detonator, after which it will be revealed that Klim is a traitor. When you complete the necessary procedures with the workbench, move into the passage and turn right. Get down to the edge of the submarine, get over to the right wall and move on, killing spiders along the way.
Having reached Klim, then you just have to choose what to do with the submarine. This concludes Sam’s story in Metro: Exodus.
