The Banner Saga 3 Chapter 22
The Banner Saga 3 Chapter 22: At the beginning of The Banner Saga 3 Chapter 22, you will see Ditch’s leg getting stuck in the hole. At the same moment, you will have to fight, and the initial position in the battle will depend on the previously made decision: the first and third options (to surround Ditch or attract the attention of monsters) will allow the hero to take part in the battle. Do not think that he will be useless – the character, even being immobilized, will be able to replenish the will of allies, which is very useful.
If your characters are caught in one of the holes on the board, they will be immobilized. Keep a close eye on the Distorted Borurs – they can move underground and apply the Rust effect on you. It reduces your starting health at the start of your turn, so kill them first. There shouldn’t be any problems with the rest of the opponents.
More on The Banner Saga 3 Chapter 22 After the battle, you will enter a cave and start a dialogue with Juno, in which your best bet is to convince the caravan members to follow a predetermined route. Then there is a conversation with Ditch, and after it, the next battle, in which Ditch and Iver himself necessarily participate, and the rest of the heroes are chosen by you at your discretion. Here you will find two waves of opponents, for defeating which the player will receive the artifact Necklace of Gosen, which gives +2 to strength and + 40% to evasion.
In the next branch of choice, it is best to stop at the second option. Your caravan will speed up, and this will not lead to any negative consequences – you will save a lot of valuable time! Then we choose an aggressive march and follow on along the Frozen Sea.
When the ice breaks, choose the option “move in one column” – this will save the lives of all members of the caravan and save time. The further journey will be interrupted by a meeting with a serpent and a conversation with Juno. After the end of the duel, we move in the dark. Do not split into two groups, otherwise, you may lose one of the heroes! The best solution here is to carefully examine the environment, but this will also lead to a new battle with the Distorted in the end.
This time again there will be three waves of enemies, but the second pack will surround your heroes from two sides. It is best to mark your fighters in the center of the field, placing them side by side. For defeating all groups, you will receive the Brass Ocarina with bonuses for movement, penetration, and aggression.
If all of your characters survive the ice journey, you will receive a new achievement. This is followed by a conversation between Iver, Sparr, Valgard, and Eyvind.
After The Banner Saga 3 Chapter 22, the next stop of the caravan will be near the Drag Stone. Here you will have to talk to Juno. Click on the stone with the left button and start a new event in which you can choose between two options: leave the bell alone or pull the liana. In the first case, you will not fight with enemies, thereby missing the opportunity to receive a valuable artifact as a reward. The first option will lead to a battle, for the successful completion of which you will be given a Dredge Ratchet. She has the following bonuses:
- +2 units to aggression;
- +3 units to the power of talents;
- +3 units to break and attack power;
- Access to the “backward movement” function when the force is equal to 3.

If you want to fight, then get ready for a serious test. As soon as the monster hits the bell, additional enemy forces will appear on the field. Place your heroes around the bell, closing access to it for enemies. It is best to take here as many varls as possible, which occupy two cells at once. Do not attack yourself, but wait for the enemy to approach you.
A certain feature of this battle is that you cannot change wounded heroes here. In-Game The Banner Saga 3 Chapter 22 Each monster, falling into the bell, will summon new forces. At the same time, fresh opponents can be much stronger than those with whom you are already fighting. And by the time the bell is damaged, your characters can be seriously weakened, so that preventing opponents from penetrating it is the key to a successful outcome of the battle.
The next part of the chapter will be marked by rest and conversation with Oli. You can have a drink together and continue towards the White Tower. If you do not prohibit your fighters from “drinking” in time, this will lead to the loss of precious time on the road.
This is followed by two dialogues: between Folka, Eyvind, and Iver and with the witch Alfrun. There are no important options here, so you can just read the text itself. Next, you may find (or not, as luck would have it) a strange plant. If you choose the option and feed it to the caravan participants, the movement will continue at a higher speed.
Then there is also the risk of stumbling upon the Distorted. Here you can go out of the way, but choosing this option is not recommended. Firstly, you will waste a lot of time this way, and secondly, the opponents are quite weak, so it’s best to deal with them quickly. It is also not recommended to search the site of the mass suicide of the drags, as you will not find anything of value here.
As you approach the White Tower, you will notice how the countdown has ended. This is followed by a battle with Bolverk, which cannot be avoided under any scenario. Here you can only be next to Bolverk (you must order Iver to attack the enemy while he does not expect it).
This boss is the most difficult in The Banner Saga 3. Bolwerk is protected by fairly reliable and durable armor and has a very large health reserve. One of the unique skills of Bolverk is the simultaneous attack of two of your characters and repulsion, and the second is activated if the boss manages to knock down one of the heroes. It is best to send the toughest warriors to him, with a low chance of losing hit points.
On the field, you will find crystals that will interfere with controlling your varls. However, they can be used with benefit – break crystals in the direction of the enemy. They will explode in a swarm of debris, inflicting a certain amount of damage to your opponents.
It is best to concentrate all efforts from the very beginning of the battle on the elimination of Bolverk, and then proceed to the elimination of other participants. Defeating the enemy will give you access to the next chapter of the saga.
The Banner Saga 3 Chapter 22 First, return to Arberrang
On your first return to the city, visit the market and the heroes’ tents. Then follow to the place of the funeral ceremony. Here you can choose several options – each will lead to an increase in mood. But you will get a greater effect if you have a feast in honor of the fallen warriors. This is followed by a conversation with Aleo and a return to the city tour mode.
It is not necessary to visit the area here, but a decision regarding the depletion of provisions will need to be made. The second interactive point, associated with deepening the walls, will lead to a conversation with Zephr and the subsequent battle on the walls of the city.
With all your might, protect the Weavers who are located in the lower part of the field. Take walls occupying two cells into battle – this will be an excellent solution since the format of the confrontation place allows you to use them as efficiently as possible. Move your strong fighters to the walls, since it is from there that the enemies will climb to you (in total, expect two waves of opponents).
If you successfully cope, you will receive the Warrior’s Beret, which gives bonuses to attacks with impossible parry, to critical strike, aggression, and +2 to all talents.
More in The Banner Saga 3 Chapter 22, After taking the reward, have a conversation with Zephr and other heroes and determine which of them will protect the Weavers. The selected hero will leave the squad, and you will learn the consequences of the decision made only if you return to Arberrag in the future. Also, here you can not help Zefru, but it is not recommended to do this.
At the end of this part of the story, you will be shown statistics indicating the number of days that are given to Iver’s caravan, following to the White Tower.
The Banner Saga 3 Chapter 22 Second visit to Arberrang
As before, visit the market and the heroes’ tents (if needed). There will also be an option with a dialogue with Hogun, which is better not to ignore. Then you will take part in the battle, but before the battle, it is recommended to visit two interactive places on the city map: houses and the community of centaurs. In the first case, do not choose the option using varls, as this will lead to the death of Gross. The centaurs should choose the first option since the latter will be marked by the death of Derdriu.
By clicking on the walls, you will listen to a report on the state of affairs. The result will be guaranteed better if you sent one of your heroes to help Zefru earlier. Then comes the battle, which we talked about above, in which, first of all, attack the most powerful enemies. Here again, there will be two waves of monsters, for the battle of which you will receive the artifact “Miniature woodcarving”.
Then you will be shown how many extra days Iber’s caravan received. In our case, it turned out to take 30 additional days, taking into account the results of protecting the walls, resolving the conflict between the centaurs, and in the confrontation with fire in the city.
The Banner Saga 3 Chapter 22 Another visit to Arberrang
After visiting all the important places, click on the stairs and meet three characters: Zefrom, Ubin, and Egil. Passing all the branches of conversations will open you access to the “Prayer Beads”, which give a bonus to protective points per turn and the power of parry.
Click on the tower and choose the option with rest. Don’t stop at everyone’s rest – this decision will lead to the death of Hogun. Take a look at the main chamber and decide on the supplies. If you decide to send drunks into battle against the Distorted, you will lose Tryggvi, if you decide to use barrels, you will lose part of the supplies.
It is best to choose the first option – it will save both provisions and people.
This is followed by a battle with the Distorted, led by Faceless. Sandra must be killed first of all since he can resurrect fallen allies. He also can make himself invulnerable for a while, so kill him as soon as possible. Do not ignore the Distorted Bear, as he goes right behind the Faceless in strength.
If you have gone through all the previous dialogues completely and defeated the enemies, then after that Iver’s caravan should receive approximately 72 hours as a bonus time.
